Academic and Professional Experience

 

Professor Anthony Ngai is a seasoned business executive with over two decades of experience in capital markets, technology and corporate governance. He currently serves as Lead Director at Silvaco Inc., a publicly listed semiconductor company on NASDAQ. In this role, Professor Ngai played a pivotal part in the company’s successful IPO in 2024. As Chair of the Nomination & Governance Committee, he has implemented board structures and policies that adhere to the highest standards of public company oversight.

Previously, Professor Ngai was a Co-Founder and CFO of Unience.io, a digital asset marketplace in Hong Kong. He was also a Partner at Avanta Investment Management, a private equity firm specializing in sustainable and impact investments. His expertise in deal structuring, market research, and strategic guidance contributed to the firm’s successful. Professor Ngai’s career also includes senior leadership roles at JPMorgan, where he was the Head of Asia Pacific Credit Trading, managing investment grade, distressed and private credit business across the region. He has a proven track record in scaling businesses, building high-performing teams, and navigating complex regulatory environments.

A graduate of The Chinese University of Hong Kong with a B.Sc. in Quantitative Finance, Professor Ngai is also a Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He is deeply committed to advancing governance excellence and fostering sustainable growth.

Professor Ngai currently a Trustee of the Chung Chi College of CUHK and is a General Committee board member of the Royal Hong Kong Yacht Club.
