Academic and Professional Experience
Professor Vincent Mak currently teaches the Masters in Finance, Masters in Family Office and Family Business, Masters in Accounting and Undergraduates Programs at the HKUST Business School. Professor Mak has been working in the finance industry for over 20 years, he held senior positions at UBS AG, Societe Generale, Hong Kong Exchanges, Haitong International and GF Securities. Professor Mak started his career at Goldman Sachs New York, worked in Swiss Re and Nomura.
Professor Mak earned a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science with Distinction from University of Michigan – Ann Arbor and a Master of Business Administration with Concentrations in Econometrics and Analytic Finance from University of Chicago, Booth School of Business. He obtained professional titles of Chartered Financial Analyst and Financial Risk Manager. Professor Mak currently is a member of the Shanghai Pudong New Area Committee of the Chinese People’s Political Consultation Conference (CPPCC) and a member (Central and Western District) of the District Fight Crime Committee, Hong Kong SAR.
